Photo Policy
Moscow Day School Staff and volunteers often take pictures or videos to commemorate events or special days. These photos are for both the parents’ enjoyment and the MDS histories. As we attract new families to our non-profit, it helps for people to see photos and videos of the fun our children have at Moscow Day School. We therefore ask MDS parents for permission to use photographs containing their child’s image.
We distinguish parents who don’t mind this request from those who want to restricted access (and even those who don’t want their child photographed at all) by managing the photographic material on Facebook. All MDS Photography enters Facebook page and is labeled public or restricted. The public images are inversely made accessible to Moscow Day school website and MDS-controlled social media.
We do restrict individual tagging of all photos unless expressly requested by the authorized parents or guardians.
Videos are purposefully edited to a safely low resolution, so it can be posted directly to our website and social networking sites.
If any authorized parent or guardian wishes to restrict photography of their child altogether, they may contact the Director to relay that desire and it will be noted in their file. The staff and volunteers will endeavor to avoid photography of the child or photographs containing the child will be blurred of identifying features before any type of publishing occurs.
