Each week the children of Moscow Day School walk to the BookPeople bookstore (on Main Street in Moscow) for a special story time.
Teacher Kristine visits Moscow Day School weekly for fun and playful Storytime Yoga with each class. Her “yoga adventure” includes stories, poses, songs, and mindful practices to help kids connect with their bodies and senses.
Pre-K learns to speak Chinese with teacher Jayne. The children learn colors, numbers, animals and new Chinese songs.
Moscow Day School takes a monthly field trip by walking, city bus, or school bus. Recent field field trips include Ferdinand's Ice Cream, the Latah County Fair, the Moscow fire station, area parks, Moscow Recycling Center, a local apple orchard, and Palouse Empire Gymnastics.
MDS Family Events
The Ice Cream Social in August is a chance for families to meet their child's teachers and parents of their child's peers.
Moscow Day School hosts four parties throughout the year, to which families are always invited: these include a Halloween Party, a Winter Party, a Valentine Party, and a Spring Bunny Party.
Each year Moscow Day School hosts twoschool performances.At the Fall Performance and Potluck Fundraiser in November, the children perform autumn-inspired songs. MDS provides the turkey, and families provide side dishes and desserts. In the Spring, we have a Spaghetti Dinner and Fundraiser, which also includes a concert by the children.
Renaissance Fair Pie Booth fundraiser. In May families are asked to bake/donate 2 pies and we sell them at the Renaissance Fair.
